We took a quick weekend trip up to Cambria back in March. A storm was moving in so we weren’t really sure what kind of weather we were going to have.

We stopped along Highway 166 to take a little break. I wished that my husband had brought his other bike so we could explore those dirt roads.

It rained on us off and on throughout this whole area.

Once we hit the coast, the skies opened up and it was absolutely beautiful. You can see Morro Bay Rock out in the distance. There were clouds in the sky, but the ocean was calm, the sun was warm and it was absolutely beautiful.

After we made it into Cambria and checked into our room, we still had a lot of daylight left so we headed up PCH. We stopped along the way to enjoy the view.

We passed the elephant seals and Hearst Castle. We kept heading north up through the twisty, windy roads of PCH. We stopped off to enjoy the view. This is one of my favorite shots. I just love it.

We broke out the GoPro selfie pole and got a few shots. My husband was being a funny guy – I didn’t even know he did that until I looked at the photos much later.

On the ride back, we had the sun at our back, wind in our face, and it was beautiful.

The place that we were staying at had nice adirondack chairs out front that we sat in and enjoyed the sunset and a couple of ice cold Coronas.

We had to head home the next day, so we stopped off to enjoy the ocean view one last time.

I’m not sure what I was trying to do here, but I definitely looked like a cross between a Teletubbie and Super Mario.

We drove through Solvang and had lunch. We got rained on, but we were lucky to miss the heavy stuff. As we drove through Santa Barbara, I saw this palm tree and had to stop for a photo op.
We ended up having a great weekend trip to Cambria. I’m glad we didn’t cancel due to the rain. We got wet, but not drenched. The coast was so unbelievably gorgeous. It was fantastic.
