I homeschool my kids and work from home so there are not a lot of days that I get completely to myself, but I happened upon a day that I had 8 hours ALONE. So how did I fill my day? I planned a motorcycle ride, of course. I wanted to head out to Jalama Beach because I had heard some people talking about it, and I had never been there.

Here’s a map of my route

I headed out the 150 to the 192

over the 154, across 246 through Solvang then down Hwy 1 to Jalama Beach. It was such an exceptionally hot, windy day. Jalama Beach, which is typically windy, was mild compared to the surrounding areas.

Jalama Beach Park is approximately 14 miles off Hwy 1. It was a beautiful, winding road down to the beach. When I finally got there, I found that they were resurfacing the parking lot, so they had the whole area blocked off. I was hoping to get a drink and cool off there, but the store was closed down too. I had to skinny up next to the kiosk to catch a little shade before heading back.

I decided to head back through Santa Maria and loop back around into Ojai.
